Capital Growth Medvest developed a new 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Tacoma, Wash. The new facility is a joint venture between Kindred Healthcare, Inc. and CHI Franciscan Health. The hospital is designed for patients undergoing recovery from complex surgery, such as neurological disease, stroke, and brain injury. The new facility opened during the second quarter of 2018.

Kindred Healthcare is a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest private employers in the United States. Kindred’s team manages the daily operation of the facility. CHI Franciscan, an affiliate of Catholic Health Initiatives, has almost 12,000 doctors nurses and staff across 19 states in the Pacific Northwest and is the third-largest nonprofit health system in the United States.

The general contractor for the project was Aldrich + Associates, which has extensive experience in healthcare construction. Earl Swensson Associates, consistently recognized as one of the top healthcare design firms, was the project architect.
