Medvest Breaks Ground On Tampa Area Medical Facility

Medvest is expanding its healthcare development footprint in Florida with its third medical facility in the state. The new 96,000-square-foot, three-story medical office building will be the latest addition to AdventHealth Wesley Chapel campus, in partnership with Moffitt Cancer Centers.

“We are honored to help AdventHealth and Moffitt Cancer Center capitalize and develop this exciting new $44+ million project,” said Joe Baugh, partner of Capital Growth Medvest. “This brings together two of the nation’s most innovative health organizations to better serve Pasco County and surrounding areas.”

This project is expected to impact the Wesley Chapel area through an estimated addition of up to 150 on-site construction positions. Post-construction, Medvest anticipates a wide array of new high-paying positions to staff the new medical office building. HuntonBrady Architects, a local Florida firm with an office in Tampa, master planned the campus and its facilities.

“The new building will mirror the medical office building that already sits on our campus,” Denyse Bales-Chubb, president and CEO of the AdventHealth Wesley Chapel hospital told Tampa Bay Times. “The goal is to make cancer care as convenient as possible.”

List, MD, president and CEO of Moffitt Cancer Center. “Expanding Moffitt’s brand of oncology care, treatment and research in Pasco County helps us accomplish this goal. Moffitt also is responding to the growing incidence of cancer in Florida, as the state’s population continues to grow and age.”

Upon completion, the new multi-specialty MOB will offer a range of treatment options, including an ambulatory surgery center, cancer center, clinic, orthopedics, physical therapy, classrooms for teaching, and a retail pharmacy.

Brasfield & Gorrie, a preferred national construction partner for Medvest, is the project’s general contractor. The new facility is expected to be complete in 2020.
