Healthcare Developer Featured By Top University

BIRMINGHAM, ALA.

Joseph Baugh, co-founder of Capital Growth Medvest, was recently featured by The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for his professional involvement among their alumni and Medvest’s new endowed scholarship in support of the UAB MS in Health Administration (MSHA) program — ranked #1 in U.S. News & World Report.

Baugh has focused his career on developing healthcare real estate across the country. Each facility they’ve completed has been designed to improve the lives of those in the community through better access to modern medical care. Wanting to invest some of that development success into their home state through a stand-out institution deeply impacting healthcare, The University of Alabama at Birmingham felt like a natural fit.

Almost a decade ago, Baugh was first drawn to UAB’s academic potential by a MSHA alumnus, who was then CEO of Childrens Hospital and Health System in Milwaukee, Wis. Five years ago, Capital Growth Medvest began investing in the UAB National Symposium as an annual sponsor. As Baugh learned more of the MSHA program, he was impressed by its academic achievement and Medvest decided to increase its involvement.

“I want to look back one day and say Capital Growth Medvest built buildings that saved lives, but I also want to say the people we support with this scholarship will do the same on a wider scale across the country because that means even more,” said Baugh.
