Building 6, a 3-story 88,000-square-foot health sciences center, is currently underway in Auburn Research Park. Early sitework was completed last year by Harmon Engineering. The foundation was poured in January and the process of managing the ongoing construction has been started by Rabren General Contractors.

The new center, once completed, will house a free-standing emergency department and ambulatory surgery center with four surgical suites — as well as a women’s health unit, diagnostic department and retail pharmacy. East Alabama Medical Center’s presence in the park will create new opportunities and serve the medical needs of Auburn’s growing population.

The new facility, which will be owned by East Alabama Medical Center, is the second development in Auburn Research Park for the joint venture between Capital Growth Medvest and Harbert Realty Services. The construction is projected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
