Medvest is helping Kindred Healthcare, Tennova Healthcare, and the University of Tennessee develop a new 57-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. The project is expected to relocate existing beds from various Tennova hospitals to the new rehabilitation hospital.
The strategic alliance between the three healthcare service providers will improve access, cost effectiveness, and treatment options to patients seeking the hospital’s rehabilitation services. The hospital will provide all private rooms, including dedicated wings for stroke and brain trauma patients. The facility will also feature a therapy gym, private therapy rooms, a cooking therapy room, and an “Activities of Daily Living” therapy suite.
JE Dunn, a construction company with rehab hospital experience, will act as the project’s general contractor. Earl Swensson Associates, based in Nashville, is the project architect.
